Terrazzo, Tile & Marble Setters are skilled tradespeople who specialize in installing and finishing various types of flooring, including ceramic, porcelain, marble, and terrazzo. They use a variety of tools and techniques to measure, cut, and lay tiles and stones in patterns, and finish them with grout, sealant, and other materials. Terrazzo, Tile & Marble Setters work on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects and must be able to read and interpret blueprints and follow precise specifications. They must also be able to work efficiently and safely to ensure that the finished product meets high standards of quality and durability.

Duties & Responsibilities

Place and arrange tiles to form decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.

Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using both hand and power cutting tools.

Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tiles.

Mix, apply, and spread cement, glue, or other adhesives using hand tools.

Align and straighten tiles using levels and squares.

Apply plaster between tiles, ensuring removal of excess plaster.

Cut, polish, and install marble and granite.

Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
