They work with a variety of fire suppression systems, such as sprinklers, foam, and dry chemical systems, and ensure that they are functioning properly and meet local and national safety codes. Sprinkler & Fire Protection Installers must have a strong knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems and be able to read blueprints and schematics. They work in a variety of settings, including construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and HVAC companies, and must follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job.

Duties & Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret prints and specifications to ascertain the location, size, and material needed.

Inspect, examine, and test sprinkler systems.

Utilize tools and special equipment effectively.

Apply codes to the installation, inspection, and maintenance of equipment.

Set up and utilize steel and power-operated scaffolding and swing stages.

Install and maintain appliances, controls, equipment, piping, and hangers.
