Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic is a skilled tradesperson who installs, repairs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They must have a good understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as electrical and mechanical systems. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanics may be responsible for installing and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning units, ductwork, and ventilation systems. They must also be able to diagnose and repair system malfunctions and perform regular maintenance to keep systems operating efficiently. They work in a variety of settings and must follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job.

Duties & Responsibilities

Measure, cut, fit, install and/or secure glass panes, window parts & architectural metals

Read and interpret drawings & specifications

Work with and install plastic, granite, aluminum panels and other similar materials used as glass substitutes
-
Work from mobile equipment, scaffolds and swing stages, sometimes at great heights, to manoeuvre glass panels that are lifted by cranes and other lifting equipment
