A Hoisting Engineer - Mobile Crane Operator is a skilled tradesperson who operates and maintains mobile cranes to lift and move heavy loads at construction sites, ports, and other industrial facilities. They must have a good understanding of crane operation and maintenance, as well as safety regulations and site plans. Mobile Crane Operators work in a variety of settings and must be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions. They must follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job and may be required to obtain certification or licensing to operate specific types of cranes.

Apprenticeship
6000 hours of on-the-job training, supplemented by one 6-week, one 4-week, and one 2-week block of in-class technical training.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct pre and post-operational inspections on mobile cranes.

Prepare, transport, assemble, and dismantle mobile cranes.

Plan crane 'lifts,' which includes calculating crane capacity and determining load weight.

Execute rigging operations as necessary.
