Drywall, Acoustic & Lathing Applicator
A Drywall, Acoustic & Lathing Applicator is a skilled tradesperson who is responsible for installing and finishing drywall, acoustic, and lathing surfaces in buildings. They use a variety of tools and techniques to apply and smooth drywall or plaster compound to create a smooth, level surface. Drywall, Acoustic & Lathing Applicators may also be responsible for installing insulation and vapour barriers, as well as applying decorative finishes, such as stucco or textured paint. They work closely with other tradespeople, such as Carpenters and Painters, to ensure that the project is completed on time and to the required specifications. Drywall, Acoustic & Lathing Applicators must have good attention to detail and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Apprenticeship
5400 hours of on-the-job training, supplemented by two 10-week sessions of in-class technical training.

Duties & Responsibilities
-
Read, interpret, and apply blueprints and specifications to establish job layout.

Construct exterior structural steel studs and sheathing.

Assemble light gauge residential steel studs, sheathing, and demountable partitions.

Apply various types of thermal, sound, and fire-stopping insulations.

Install partition walls, furring, and shaft wall systems.
-
Complete the installation of lath, drywall, molded and cast forms, and ceiling systems.
