Construction Millwright
A Construction Millwright is a skilled tradesperson who installs, maintains, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment used in various industries. They use a variety of tools and equipment to assemble, install, and align machineries, such as conveyor systems, turbines, and generators, ensuring that the equipment operates efficiently and safely. Construction Millwrights must have a good understanding of technical drawings and schematics and be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with machinery. They work in a variety of settings, including factories, power plants, and construction sites, and must follow strict safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

Minimum Standards

Apprenticeship

Duties & Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings and execute mathematical calculations.

Employ both hand and power tools, as well as operate forklifts, booms, low-capacity cranes, and other equipment.

Choose and effectively utilize materials and fasteners.

Perform various fabrication techniques including welding, brazing, soldering, rigging, and hoisting.

Install material handling systems and commission machinery, including automated robotic systems.

Install bearings, seals, packing, pipe systems, valves, fans, blowers, as well as electric and electronic controls, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
